Conducted by Saucy Dates, the survey claims women want longer encounters, but we’re skeptical about how many moms participated. Sure, moms enjoy intimacy and might dream of indulging in a full 26-minute session sans interruptions, but the reality is we’re often juggling a million to-do lists in our heads.
Picture this: lying back to unwind for that long, while your mind wanders to your kid’s upcoming parent-teacher conference (which will probably end in tears—yours, not theirs), or the towering pile of laundry you ignored in favor of running to the grocery store because you were out of everything. Not to mention your toddler rustling around in their bed, likely about to demand a midnight drink.
We understand that some moms can switch off the mental chaos and fully engage with their partners, but for the majority of us, the “wrap it up” signal would be flashing around the 11-minute mark. Without a couple of glasses of wine? More like eight minutes.
Honestly, we could all use a “wrap it up” box on the nightstand. Seriously, who has time for 26 minutes of anything when there are Christmas cards to address and a mountain of chores looming? Worrying about whether our post-baby bodies look like melted candles while trying to enjoy those extra minutes is just not productive.
According to the survey, women want marathon sessions, but we just hope our partners don’t see this data—because, come on, I’ve got laundry to fold and Hallmark movies to binge, and let’s not even discuss my dental hygiene from this morning!
