I understand that your back is likely sore from the constant shifting and carrying, and there are days when you might consider skipping the gym entirely in favor of a leaf-only diet. Please don’t resort to that! You might feel like a whale trying to do push-ups during those first few weeks, and it can be frustrating to think you’ll still feel this way post-pregnancy. Just know that you will grow stronger, and no, you don’t actually resemble a whale.

Getting to the gym on time can feel almost impossible, and you may even think that lifting your baby around is sufficient for building muscle. While it’s true that your arms look fantastic, don’t hesitate to treat yourself to that cookie you’ve been craving!

So, dear mother at the gym, whatever your shape or fitness level, you are doing wonderfully. This post-baby fitness journey may look different from what you experienced before, but the one crucial difference is that it’s now more rewarding than ever.
