    My vehicle is a disaster, my bedding hasn’t seen a wash in ages, and my daughter’s high chair is still sticky from last night’s dinner. Let’s face it: I will never be that dad who lives in a spotless home (sorry, Mom). Life is inherently messy, and I’m learning to accept that.

    I do my best, and I am improving from the early days when she was a newborn. When your sweet child morphs into a loud, crying bundle of frustration, it’s not a moment to cherish; it’s a test of patience. I sometimes worry this makes me a less-than-stellar dad, but I remind myself that perfection is unattainable, and that’s perfectly okay.

And yes, coffee, you remain my faithful companion.
  7. To Avoid Laundry Mishaps
    For some reason, I struggle to effectively clean and dry clothes without ruining them. I’ll try to read the tags and comprehend why certain items need specific care, but to me, it all seems overly complicated. My wife’s sweaters will probably continue to face unfortunate fates each week.

So there you have it—the promises I’m likely to break in the upcoming year. While I might boast about my plans for self-improvement to colleagues, it’s merely a facade. I’m as flawed as everyone else, and my promises will likely turn into smoke in no time. At least I’m honest about it.
