Look at that belly! It still has a gentle curve from carrying my 9lb 3oz baby for an entire 40 weeks.
Notice those stretch marks? They’re the testament of creating not one, not two, but three beautiful human beings.
And those swollen fingers? Just a little reminder of the extra fluid I carried while nurturing my last little one.
See that fold between my hip and stomach? That’s a new addition. It’s the result of my first child weighing 8lbs 10oz, followed by two more at 9lbs 3oz each. It wasn’t there before, but now it serves as a lovely reminder that for 30 months, I had two hearts beating inside of me.
Isn’t that baby smiling at me just incredible? I grew him, loved him, and nurtured him with my own body. My body has initiated six lives and welcomed three full-term babies into the world. It expanded, evolved, and provided the nourishment necessary for each of my children to thrive into healthy little ones.
My body has become a canvas that illustrates the journey of creating three remarkable human beings.
It’s truly astonishing, isn’t it? My body?
From now on, I refuse to view my body with disdain. I will no longer fixate on my squishy stomach, my stretch-marked thighs, those once-perky breasts, or the way my underwear digs into my hip. I will no longer see those features as flaws.
Instead, I now regard my body with admiration, appreciating it for the magnificent and awe-inspiring vessel that it truly is.
I mean, think about it: I grow human beings. What’s your superpower?
