Welcome to week 23 of your pregnancy! At this stage, your little one is about the length of a carrot, measuring approximately 11 inches long and weighing around 1.2 pounds. Get ready, as your baby is gearing up for a significant growth spurt over the next month. They may even double in size during this time!

What’s Happening with Your Baby

Your baby’s skin is starting to take on a pinkish-red hue, which is due to the development of veins and arteries just beneath the surface. Although their skin may appear a bit saggy now, that will soon change as baby fat starts to accumulate. You might even catch a glimpse of those tiny arms and legs poking out from your belly!

The placenta, which serves as your baby’s life-support system, is fully operational by now. It’s responsible for transferring oxygen and nutrients while removing waste.

What to Expect with Your Body

As your pregnancy hormones ramp up, you might start noticing that hazy feeling often referred to as “pregnancy brain.” One way to combat this is to use post-it notes for reminders around your home. It can really help keep you organized during this busy time!
