Lance Parker has shared that his outlook on life has shifted dramatically since the arrival of his twins. “Having children alters your entire perspective. It used to be all about you, and now it’s focused on someone else,” he remarked during a recent conversation.
Welcoming the Twins
In October, Lance and his partner Jordan welcomed twins, Alexander James and Violet Betty. Although the little ones are just six months old, Lance is acutely aware of how fleeting these early years can be and is determined to savor each moment. “I’m just completely enamored with them,” he expressed while speaking with reporter Mia Roberts for a lifestyle magazine. “All my friends keep saying, ‘Enjoy every second because it goes by in the blink of an eye, and you’ll miss this stage.’ I’m already feeling emotional because they’re five months old, and time is just flying.”
The Journey of Fatherhood
Lance described the transition to fatherhood—especially with two infants—as “quite the journey.” He noted that he and Jordan were fortunate to have the initial months free from work due to the pandemic, allowing them to bond deeply with their children. “Now that I’m back to work, I make an effort to be home as much as I can. I’m lucky that my job allows me to work from home, so I can spend quality time with them. However, when I have to be away for shoots, it’s tough. I really miss them.”
While he feels grateful for the time he can spend with his children, he admits that getting a full night’s sleep is another story. “Sleep deprivation is no joke,” he acknowledged, a sentiment echoed by countless parents. “I get how overwhelming it can be, and it can seriously affect your well-being.” Fortunately, their extended family has stepped in to lend a hand whenever things get hectic or when the dads simply need to catch some sleep. “Honestly, instead of gifting new parents onesies, just offer them a couple of nights of babysitting. That’s the best gift you can give!” he joked.
A Shift in Perspective
Fatherhood has also transformed Lance’s perspective on various aspects of life. “When you have kids, everything shifts. It’s no longer just about you.”
Lance and Jordan welcomed their twins via surrogate on October 13, 2021. The following day, Lance joyfully shared the news on social media, posting a picture of the twins’ birth certificates with the caption, “The baby dragons have arrived!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I can’t express how overflowing with love I am right now. Thank you for all the kind wishes; they mean a lot. Now, how do you change a diaper?!”
