Kelly Faircloth: A Journey Through Parenting and Writing

Kelly Faircloth is the executive editor at Home Insemination Kit, where she curates freelance articles and welcomes compelling stories from writers. If you have a narrative to share, she’d be excited to hear from you!

Before this, Kelly dedicated eight years to Jezebel.com, where she penned the popular Royal Tea column — that’s Hampton Court Palace you see in her profile picture! She also served as a senior editor, overseeing contributions on literature, history, and culture. During her time there, she explored topics such as romance novels, body image, HGTV, American consumerism, and even created a viral piece about medieval walking habits (the reason for its popularity still baffles her). Her career began at Inc. Magazine and The New York Observer, and she’s contributed to various publications, including Dwell and Curbed.

A proud Harvard University alumna, Kelly was raised in Georgia, flanked by a river and a railroad, and has an abundance of amusing tales from her swampy upbringing. She currently resides in New York with her husband, their kindergarten daughter (still processing how she’s already in school), and a large, cantankerous cat who keeps her company while she writes and often growls at birds. Kelly has a plethora of questions about the world-building in Paw Patrol and can frequently be found at the library, endeavoring to introduce her child to the realm of sword-and-sorcery fantasy novels—a mission that seems to be progressing well.
