Amanda Kloots, known for her role as co-host on The Talk and her participation in Dancing with the Stars, penned a heartfelt memoir detailing the loss of her husband, Nick Cordero, to COVID-19, which was released in June 2021. Exciting news has emerged that producers Denise Di Novi and Margaret French Isaac, celebrated for projects like Little Women and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, are set to transform this touching story into a feature film.

As reported by Deadline, Amanda and her sister, Emma Kloots, a Paris-based entrepreneur and author who collaborated with Amanda on “Live Your Life: My Story of Loving and Losing Nick Cordero,” will be writing the film’s screenplay.

“I am truly thankful to Denise and Margaret for this incredible chance to bring our story to life in a new medium,” Kloots expressed on her Instagram. “Working together again with my sister on the screenplay has been a fulfilling journey, and we appreciate your support in empowering women.”

Kloots began sharing her husband’s battle with COVID-19 on social media in April 2020. Over three months, the Broadway actor faced numerous complications while on a ventilator, tragically passing away in July 2020 at the age of 41. In reflecting on their harrowing experience, Emma shared on her Instagram: “Those three months were filled with moments of tragedy, fear, and immense sadness, but they were also filled with moments of hope, joy, and immense beauty. More than anything, those three months showed us the incredible power that can come from people joining together to fight, from loving deeply, and from being there for others to lean on. Those three months changed us, and changed the way we look at the world forever.”

“I felt honored to assist my sister in turning this story into a memoir with Harper Books last year,” Emma added. “Now, I am immensely grateful to the remarkable women at Di Novi Pictures for helping us adapt ‘Live Your Life’ into a feature film.”

In addition to her memoir, co-hosting The Talk, competing on DWTS, leading her own fitness venture, and managing a clothing line alongside Emma, Kloots also juggles the responsibilities of being a single mom to her two-year-old son, Max.

In sharing the movie announcement, Kloots wrote, “How do you keep someone you’ve lost alive? You say their name, you tell their stories, you share their art and music!”
