Attention Disney Enthusiasts: Your Dream of Living in a Disney Community is Becoming a Reality!

The Walt Disney Company has exciting news for those yearning for a sprinkle of Disney magic in their everyday lives. On Thursday, Disney announced its initiative to create residential communities nationwide, kicking off with Cotino, set in the picturesque Rancho Mirage of California’s Coachella Valley. Additional sites across the U.S. are also being considered for future developments.

These new neighborhoods, dubbed Storyliving by Disney, aim to inspire residents to cultivate friendships, explore personal passions, and embark on new adventures—all while enjoying the signature attention to detail and unique amenities that Disney is renowned for. According to a press release, Disney cast members, specially trained in customer service, will help foster community spirit and engagement within these neighborhoods. A club membership will provide access to an array of experiences, including wellness programs, live entertainment, cooking classes, and more.

“Disney has been sharing unforgettable stories for nearly a century,” said Alex Thompson, president of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. “As we step into our second century, we’re thrilled to offer innovative ways to spread the magic of Disney, transforming storytelling into storyliving. We eagerly anticipate welcoming residents to these charming communities where they can live life to the fullest.”

The design of these communities will be spearheaded by Disney Imagineers, who are collaborating with homebuilders and developers to create imaginative living spaces. In Cotino, where Walt Disney himself once owned a home, the architecture and amenities will reflect the rich cultural history and contemporary inspirations of the valley. Plans include a lagoon, a waterfront clubhouse, a hotel, shopping, dining options, and parks.

Prospective homeowners in Cotino will have a variety of housing options to choose from, such as estates, single-family homes, and condominiums. The community will be inclusive of all ages and will feature at least one section specifically designed for residents aged 55 and older.

Now, Disney fans can finally experience life in a House of Mouse. Dreams really do come true!
