In today’s world of social media, cute pregnancy announcements have become a trend, but one mom decided to take a different route, injecting humor and honesty into her big news. This is the story of a pregnancy reveal that truly stands out.
Meet Jessica Moore
Jessica Moore is the creative mind behind the blog Petals & Puddles. She’s a mother to two energetic boys, Lucas and Ethan, ages four and three. When she discovered she was expecting baby number three, her reaction was one many parents can relate to. “We’re thrilled to share that baby number THREE is on the way!” she announced on Instagram, but her initial reaction was less than conventional.
“Oh sh*t. That was the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw those twenty-five positive tests,” Jessica shared on her blog. “Oh sh*t, I’m pregnant. Oh sh*t, that doctor was totally wrong when he said I’d need help to conceive.” Jessica, who has Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), was previously advised that she would require fertility treatments to conceive.
Her body, however, had other plans. “My body gave a massive ‘F-YOU’ to that doctor,” she explained. After conceiving Lucas without any medical intervention, she quickly found herself expecting Ethan as well, only having had one postpartum period in between. And now, she’s defied the odds yet again with baby number three on the way.
Unplanned but Exciting
Jessica also addressed some nosy inquiries about whether this pregnancy was planned. “Honestly, it wasn’t. None of our pregnancies were intentionally planned,” she admitted. Due to her PCOS, she was cautious about setting herself up for disappointment. “Planning would have just meant disappointment if it didn’t happen, and that’s something I wanted to avoid. So when that test turned positive, you can imagine the whirlwind of emotions I experienced! It was a huge ‘Oh sh*t’ moment for me,” she said.
Her two boys couldn’t be happier about the news, either. “Lucas is over the moon about being a big brother again,” Jessica said. “Every day, he asks how much bigger the baby is getting. Ethan, on the other hand, loves to yell at my belly—he’s such a wild child!” With another little one on the way, Jessica’s life is about to get even busier, but her sense of humor ensures she’s ready for the ride.
