“I remember taking those photos at 1 am and feeling so excited about capturing this moment. It was amazing to witness her doing what she loves while also being a mother,” Mooney remarked. Chelsea discovered Mooney through social media and knew she wanted her to document her delivery.
Nurses play a vital role in the birthing process, providing care and support during those crucial early days. Chelsea exemplified this with her determination to be hands-on with her son’s care. After 24 hours of labor, baby Oliver arrived, and Chelsea jumped right in to apply her skills. “I wanted to be as involved as possible in his care. I have the knowledge and skills to assess him clinically, but I also wanted to have those memories,” she said. “I’m aware that not every birther has a positive experience, and I recognize the privilege I hold.”
