Those who have opted to wait until after giving birth to get vaccinated may unknowingly increase their risk of severe illness. Recent mothers who haven’t been vaccinated during pregnancy are also strongly urged to do so promptly.
“Getting vaccinated is the most effective way to minimize maternal and fetal complications from COVID-19,” explains Dr. Mark Johnson, president of SMFM.
