He reminisced about the moment he learned that actor David Schwimmer (Ross) wore a t-shirt featuring his artwork during the taping of the show’s third episode. “The next day, I reached out to the show creators, who decided to incorporate my art into the set. Now, 25 years later, collectors can own a piece of that legacy through The Art of Friends,” he continued.

Bidding starts at $100 for 11 non-fungible tokens (NFTs), including pieces like Coffee Cup, King Kong, and Lady Liberty. His iconic work, ‘Big Hitter,’ which marked the beginning of his association with Friends, is available in a limited edition for $150.

Inspiration and Cultural Impact

As a pop artist, Whitaker often draws inspiration from cultural themes. Notably, he worked on a series commissioned by Kanye West based on the cartoon The Jetsons. “Reflecting on this amazing collaboration with Kanye West,” he captioned a canvas featuring Elroy.
