As Pride Month kicks off, Busy Greene is proudly shining a spotlight on their 12-year-old child Jamie, who identifies as gay and uses they/them pronouns. Earlier this year, Greene shared this news on their podcast, with Jamie’s permission, and now they’re excited to highlight the wonderful things Jamie is doing in celebration of Pride.
“Today marks the beginning of PRIDE MONTH!” Greene wrote enthusiastically. “I have immense pride for this kid and everything they represent!” They also mentioned that the shirt they were wearing is part of a collaboration between The Haas Brothers and Citizens of Humanity, with all proceeds benefitting the @lalgbtcenter in Los Angeles. “The @lalgbtcenter has been a tremendous support to my family over the years, providing us with education, resources, and a sense of community,” Greene shared.
In light of this close connection, Jamie wanted to give back. “One incredible thing Jamie did last year (and I’m so proud to share this😂) is that after noticing the unused beauty products I received from brands, Jamie decided to collect unopened makeup and hygiene items from me and other influencers to donate to the @lalgbtcenter, which serves queer and trans youth,” Greene explained.
“Thanks to many of my friends, Jamie was able to donate HUNDREDS of items to the center,” they added, expressing pride in their child’s generous spirit.
On their podcast, Greene discussed Jamie’s coming out journey. “For those of you who are friends tuning in, this is the first time you’re learning that Jamie is openly gay,” they said. “Jamie told us when they were just 10 years old, and I always knew they had something special to share.”
It’s easy to see why Jamie is such a remarkable kid with a big heart. They have a wonderfully supportive parent who not only honors their authentic self but also engages with whatever interests Jamie is passionate about.
