Prancer is currently residing with a loving but weary family in New Jersey. “I truly believe there’s someone out there who can handle Prancer, because my family and I are ready for a break,” Jennings shared on social media, providing an unusually candid take on Prancer’s personality.

Described as embodying the essence of a Chihuahua meme—50% fury and 50% quivering—Prancer has had quite the journey. He arrived at the foster home a bit overweight, dressed in a cashmere sweater, with a delightful snack of bacon, egg, and cheese nestled in his crate. His previous owner, an elderly woman, treated him more like a human companion than a pet, which has left him fearful and unaccustomed to social interactions.

In his first week in foster care, Prancer was too anxious to show his true self, and Jennings humorously noted she found him easier to manage that way. “I’m starting to think he’s not just a dog, but perhaps the spirit of a troubled Victorian child,” she quipped.

He would thrive in a home where he wouldn’t have to share his space or be exposed to large gatherings. “If you have guests over, you’d need to keep him out of sight, like a vacuum cleaner,” Jennings noted.
