She loves posing for the camera, so he embraced it.
Let’s be honest — caring for a baby can sometimes feel a bit monotonous. Until they start talking back and can hold their heads up, looking after an infant involves a lot of unrecognized effort. To add some much-needed humor to the experience, one dad decided to create whimsical staged photos featuring him and his baby girl in various costumes. Just wait until you see her dressed as a cheerful garden gnome!
Meet Alex Johnson, a 36-year-old dad from sunny California who is enjoying life with his 9-month-old daughter, Mia. He revels in dressing up with her and having his wife, Jessie, capture adorable moments of the two on his Instagram account, @alexjphotos.
As reported by The Daily Mail, Alex came up with the idea for these entertaining photos when he noticed how much joy Mia displayed while having her picture taken. Oh. My. Goodness. She is simply irresistible!
It’s worth mentioning that Alex isn’t new to the world of playful photography. Before Mia arrived, this vintage furniture shop owner enjoyed dressing up and snapping solo pictures that he shared with friends and family. Clearly, Mia has taken his creative endeavors to the next level.
“She definitely makes all the pictures way cuter; without her, I’m just a guy who enjoys taking silly photos. The possibilities for our next costume adventure are endless,” he shares.
While Mia is generally a cheerful baby, Alex admits that some costumes can be a bit uncomfortable for her. “Mia has always been such a giggly little one, but the gnome beard was definitely itchier than she would’ve liked.” Sorry, Mia. Totally worth it!
They look like naturals in those tutus.
And in leis.
Fortunately for social media, Alex shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. “I plan to keep taking photos with her for as long as she’ll let me,” he says, even hoping to continue this fun project into her teenage years.
We absolutely love how this dad is nurturing a special bond with his daughter, and we have no doubt that one day she will cherish the memories of all the fun they had together from the very beginning. Yes, even the itchy garden gnome beard!
