The Presidential Inauguration Committee (PIC) is hosting a unique “curated livestream for young Americans” before and during the Inaugural Ceremonies, where President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will take their oaths of office. Actress Keke Palmer will be the host, featuring a special message from the new First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, along with insights from historians like Doris Kearns Goodwin and Erica Armstrong Dunbar.
Presidential Pets Segment
One of the most delightful segments for children will be about presidential pets, produced by Nickelodeon. They’ll hear all about Champ and Major Biden, the new First Dogs of the White House, as well as other famous canine residents of the People’s House. Notably, the previous president was among the few who did not have a dog in the White House.
Student Voices and Trivia
Additionally, kids can enjoy “excerpts of student voices” from PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs’ “We the Young People” series, which includes fun trivia questions, some posed by Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, and segments produced by the Library of Congress and other special features.

This livestream will be available at BidenInaugural.org/youth on Wednesday, January 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eastern. Nickelodeon, Discovery Education, Amazon Prime Video, and various social media platforms will also broadcast it. A Spanish-language version will air on Discovery Familia later that day.
