Dear Mama,

I want to share something crucial with you: I don’t see you.

Now, before you click away, let me explain. While I may not physically see your struggles, I understand the challenges you face every day.

I get it—you’re often running on empty, fueled by caffeine and the weight of anxiety. You strive to be the best mother, partner, daughter, and friend, yet you frequently feel like you’re falling short in every role. I know that at least once a day, you find yourself internally shouting, “How can I do this all?!”

You feel an immense amount of love for your children, paired with the guilt of not living up to the expectations you set for yourself. Some days, the thought of escaping sounds tempting, but instead, you find solace in your car in the grocery store parking lot, just to grab a few moments of peace.

The responsibilities can feel suffocating—your to-do list stretches endlessly with tasks like scheduling dentist appointments, preparing gifts for teachers, cleaning the house, attending parent-teacher meetings, doing laundry, grocery shopping, arranging playdates, pondering dinner options, and yes, even squeezing in time for a shower. Balancing all this while nurturing your little ones can seem impossible at times.

You might worry that you aren’t patient enough, present enough, or fun enough. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, disorganized, and inadequate. I know these feelings all too well because I, too, share that weight.

I don’t see your struggles because you hide them well, just as I do. We wear brave faces, pushing through our challenges with a smile—even on the toughest days. You rise each morning, pull yourself together, and tackle whatever comes your way. You are resilient. You are a mom.

While you might feel that you’re the only one grappling with these issues at the playground, rest assured, you are not alone. We all wear our masks, concealing our vulnerabilities. It’s okay to feel like you’re juggling too much; that’s why we have each other for support (and let’s be honest, sometimes wine or chocolate helps too).

You’ve got this, mama. Just remember: striving for perfection all the time is overrated. Take a breath and give yourself permission to be human.

With love,
