The epic Season 14 Finale of Real Housewives of Orange County unfolded at the engagement party of Vicki Gunvalson, and what a night it was! While Andy Cohen teased viewers about a “meltdown to end all meltdowns” at the upcoming reunion, he certainly left out the wild antics of an intoxicated Tamra Judge who found herself crying and hiding in the bushes.
We kick things off with Shannon Beador on a date with a man named Derek, but we’ll delve into that a bit later. Instead, let’s fast forward to Braunwyn Windham-Burke and her mother, Dr. Claire, engaging in some rather unusual Bhakti yoga in the backyard on a gloomy day. It was certainly an interesting sight. “I’m so glad we’re in a good place right now,” Dr. Claire says, to which Braunwyn reflects in her confessional, “This might be the most complex relationship of my life. If Mom thinks we’re good, then we must be good.”
Meanwhile, Emily visits the doctor to address her “chronic, arthritic” pain, hoping for some relief. “It makes me irritable; it ruins everything,” she admits. The doctor delivers the tough news: “Your left hip doesn’t look good. You’ll need a hip replacement; it’ll change your life. You’ll be able to walk and exercise.” Emily is understandably emotional as she calls her husband, Tom, who seems less than sympathetic.
Even Kelly finds it hard to watch. After taking an anger management class just days earlier, Kelly decides to crash Vicki’s “country western chic”-themed engagement party, even though she wasn’t invited. “I don’t think any mantra-schmantra is going to help this,” Kelly quips.
At the party, Shannon spills the beans about her date with Derek, who also happens to be the ex of Tammy, a blast from the past for the group. “He knows a lot of people here,” she says, reminding viewers of the show’s earlier days. But fear not; Derek won’t be making many appearances in the future, as Shannon is currently dating John.
As the night progresses, the ladies indulge in line dancing and numerous shots of tequila. “I’m very, very, very excited,” Vicki exclaims, prompting viewers to wonder, “Why?!” Kelly also presents Vicki with a thoughtful engagement gift, complete with a note wishing her “happiness and health.”
Things soon take a turn for the uncomfortable. Fueled by tequila and witnessing Kelly’s “smug face,” Tamra’s emotions boil over, and the drama escalates. Amid a heated discussion about ongoing lawsuits involving Shannon and Tamra, Tamra’s hair catches fire (yes, you read that right!), leading her to confront Gina instead of Kelly. “You’re really hostile right now; you’re overreacting,” Gina responds.
“There’s only one person out of line here, and that’s Kelly,” Shannon insists. Braunwyn sides with the others, admitting she now sees the darker side of Kelly. “When she lashes out, it’s hard and deep,” she states. “Kelly’s a bully. These two are suffering financially because of her actions,” Vicki adds.
The climax occurs when Tamra, in tears, retreats to the bushes. “I love Tamra,” Gina laughs, “but I don’t love that I’m pulling her out of a bush.” In the end, Kelly remains unapologetic. “You did this to yourself,” she asserts. “Everything is everyone else’s fault but yours. Take responsibility for your own actions.”
The episode wraps up with the usual updates on the women’s lives, including Tamra’s ongoing lawsuit. So, take a breather, fellow RHOC fans; you’ll need it for the reunion next week.
