Understanding Diaper Need
Did you know that one in three American families struggles with diaper need? Approximately 5 million toddlers and babies under three years old live in low-income households (those earning less than 200% of the poverty line). Sadly, government assistance programs like food stamps do not consider diapers a basic necessity. This lack of access can severely impact the well-being of both children and parents, often forcing many to miss work or school because they cannot find childcare without sufficient diapers.
Founded with the support of Huggies, the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) works tirelessly to eliminate diaper need across the country, aiding around 200,000 children each month. Huggies has generously donated over 220 million diapers and wipes to the network since 2011, including 20 million this year alone. This movement aims to provide an additional million diapers for families in need. Each year, Kimberly-Clark and Huggies commit to donating 15 million diapers to member programs within the National Diaper Bank Network and an extra 5 million through retailer donation events.
