Nashville generally enjoys a pleasant climate, but it’s wise to steer clear of January and February when even a light snowfall can disrupt the city. Be cautious of the sweltering heat and humidity in July and August. Fortunately, this year, those summer months are looking to be the safest for travel. How perfect is that?
Top Places to Stay in Nashville
Looking for accommodations? Nashville has seen a surge in tourism, leading to a plethora of hotel options. The key consideration is choosing the right neighborhood to call home during your stay.
Downtown Nashville offers a wealth of hotel choices, but be prepared for a lively atmosphere as Lower Broadway transforms into a party zone after dark. While it’s not unsafe, your children may encounter things that are new to them. Another downside is the mandatory valet parking at downtown hotels, which can set you back $35-$40 nightly.
If you prefer to stay downtown, I recommend the Omni Nashville or the Westin Nashville; both are stylishly decorated and very comfortable. For a true indulgence, consider the historic Hermitage Hotel.
If you’re looking for something more budget-friendly, especially if you have a vehicle, the neighborhoods surrounding downtown provide several well-known chain hotels. The Vanderbilt area is just minutes away and offers a variety of options. Green Hills is another safe neighborhood full of recognizable hotel chains. Many visitors are also opting for Airbnb or VRBO rentals, but be sure to research the area to avoid ending up in a less convenient part of the city.
