Portland is wonderfully eccentric and bursting with life. Recently, a few of my friends and I explored the city, seeking out its best offerings. Here’s our curated list of must-visit spots:
- Powell’s City of Books
This is the world’s largest independent bookstore. It’s vast, and I could easily lose myself in its shelves for days on end. - The Nines Hotel
If you’re looking for a luxurious stay, this hotel surpasses expectations! Our room was quite the treat, perched fourteen stories up. - Jake’s Famous Crawfish
With amazing food and a cozy vibe, we spent hours laughing and enjoying our meal without feeling rushed—definitely a thumbs up! - Urban Farmer
Located in The Nines, we indulged in breakfast in bed not just once, but two days in a row. The Eggs Benedict are a must-try! - Kiva Tea, Cafe and Spa
We indulged in their Seasonal Special, which included a 60-minute massage, a warm oil scalp massage, and a mini-facial. Walking out felt like we were floating on air. Trust me, always say yes to a warm oil scalp massage. Plus, tea is taken very seriously here. - Matador
If you crave Mexican cuisine and energizing margaritas, this is the place to be. We enjoyed great service and delicious food, including the surprisingly tasty brussel sprouts. Yes, really! - Mudra Massage
For a unique experience, try an ashiatsu massage where therapists use their feet to work out your tension. It sounds bizarre, but it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had!
After a day of exploration, we even managed to hit up Sephora, Blue Mercury, and Anthropologie—all conveniently located downtown—perfect for a girl’s weekend.
By the end of our trip, I picked up some journals from Powell’s for my kids. My son even personalized his with a “Llama Love” design. It’s clear he’s already dreaming of living in Portland someday. I can’t wait for my next visit—Pip’s Doughnuts is top of the list!
