I have a deep love for fashion. Shopping brings me immense joy, and there’s nothing quite like returning home with bags full of outfits I adore. When I find myself in a slump, a little retail therapy—especially at a place like Forever 21—does wonders for my mood.

Recently, while at the mall with my family, I announced I was stepping out of Macy’s to explore Forever 21. “What do you need from there?” one relative asked, as if I were too old to shop at such a place.

I’m 31 years old, a mother of two, and yes, I drive a minivan. But I plan to shop at Forever 21 until I’m six feet under, surrounded by all the trendy, affordable pieces I’ve collected over the years.

In high school, my friends and I spent countless afternoons at Forever 21, trying on the latest styles and picking out outfits for our nights out. As we grew older, some of my friends drifted away from the store, but I remained loyal.

Forever 21 doesn’t say “Shop Here While You’re Young.” It says Forever 21! Let’s be real—age shouldn’t dictate where we shop or how we dress. I still love crop tops, distressed jeans, maxi dresses, and quirky graphic tees, often adorned with fun phrases. Forever 21 is where I find these styles, and it’s where I feel comfortable.

When I was pregnant with my first child at 26, I went on a major clothing purge in my third trimester. I tossed out anything I felt was inappropriate for a new mom. I aimed for a more conservative look, but looking back, I realize that was an irrational response to motherhood.

During those early months of my son’s life, I felt disconnected from myself. Although clothing isn’t solely responsible for our self-image, wearing what truly represents who I am made a significant difference. Once I embraced my style again, the fog lifted. It was silly to think that aging or becoming a mom meant changing my wardrobe.

So yes, I shop at Forever 21, a store designed for young women, because that’s where I find clothes that resonate with me. I choose styles that make me feel confident and happy, regardless of what society or my relatives think. Today, I rocked patterned leggings and a Chewbacca t-shirt with sunglasses. My bralette peeked out intentionally, and I felt fantastic.

In summary, fashion knows no age limit. Embrace what makes you feel good, shop where you enjoy, and never let the expectations of others dictate your style. Whether you’re a young mom or just young at heart, Forever 21 is a place where your fashion choices can be as timeless as you feel.
