Poppy and her friends are set to return in a delightful new holiday special! If you’re like many parents, you’ve probably found yourself glued to your screen whenever your kids fire up Trolls on the iPad. I must confess, I still crank up the radio when “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” plays. With Trolls 2 not hitting theaters until 2020 (what a wait!), DreamWorks is treating us to a charming animated half-hour special titled Trolls Holiday, which will air in primetime this week. Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake will reprise their beloved roles as the dynamic duo, Poppy and Branch.
The Storyline
The storyline looks promising. According to NBC’s press release, “With the Bergens’ singular holiday no longer a concern and the Trolls out of the danger zone, Poppy, the eternally upbeat Troll queen, is determined to introduce a brand-new celebration in Bergen Town.” She enlists the help of the hesitant Branch and the colorful Snack Pack on her mission to persuade her Bergen pals, Bridget and King Gristle Jr., that life could be more joyful with a new holiday. However, bringing Ticklepalooza or Balloon Squeal Day into the mix might be more challenging than Poppy anticipates, as the Bergens may not be ready for such a loud, glittery celebration.
Star-Studded Cast
The exciting part? The star-studded cast remains intact! Alongside Kendrick and Timberlake, the original voice actors have returned, including Zoey Carter as Bridget, Chris Turner as King Gristle Jr., and many more familiar faces.
