Bella had a blast on the playground! She’s gaining strength, but you might want to consider installing a brachiation bar at home. All you need is some unblemished pine and about 14 feet of wall space. It’s a breeze!
Birthday Celebrations
Happy second birthday to Bella! Apologies for the three dozen personalized cupcakes being sent back 😢 However, we trust that you and the children appreciate the joy of their special birthday walk in the sunshine, which is truly the best treat!
Lunch and Gender Norms
Lunch today included kale chips, kefir, and gluten-free crackers. Bella had an unexpectedly androgynous day; one of our substitute teachers even mistook her for a boy! It’s fantastic to see her challenge gender norms in such a playful way.

Hello, Montessori Pumpernickel Class parents! Just a reminder that each family is responsible for completing 50 volunteer hours by the end of the week to avoid a $400 fee! We currently need help from a master carpenter to build custom reclaimed-wood bookshelves, a lepidopterist to lead a butterfly expedition, and someone experienced in kombucha brewing to tend to our classroom SCOBY. If you’re interested in guiding the lower school in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, please let us know!
Classroom Adventures
Today was quite the adventure! The toddlers executed their threat of mutiny and managed to lock us all in the closet, LOL!
Unfortunately, we’ve had a case of “pink eye” in the class that has been spreading. We aren’t implying any intent, but we’ll be closing for an indefinite period to sanitize and smudge the classroom with sagebrush.
