It’s unfortunate that a few careless parents have cast a shadow on the rest of us, creating a heightened sensitivity to children in public spaces. The tension is palpable, especially in places like restaurants and airplanes. As a parent, stepping onto a plane with a toddler can feel like walking into a courtroom—everyone seems to brace for the worst. This trend is spreading to nearly all public venues, and it’s frustrating. I shouldn’t be judged based on the actions of a few irresponsible individuals. If I receive a condescending card, I will take my business elsewhere.
