Dear Pinterest Moms:
LET’S COME TOGETHER!
You probably thought this would be yet another critique of Pinterest, of crafting, or of trying to create “magical” moments for our children.
But no, that’s not the case! This message is for you, my fellow Pinterest Moms. I genuinely appreciate you because, guess what? I am one of you. Yes, I admit it: I’m a Pinterest Mom and I take pride in it. Not only do I pin ideas, but I also bring them to life.
And here’s the kicker: I don’t do this to show off, nor do I aim to make other moms feel less than. Honestly, I don’t even do it primarily for my kids. I do it simply because I enjoy it.
That’s right; we Pinterest Moms are all about the fun! We love crafting, decorating, cooking, and throwing parties. We enjoy creating things… just for the joy of it.
When we share our crafts, bakes, or party ideas, it’s not meant for the Non-Pinterest Moms out there. We completely understand if you’re not interested. We’ve seen countless articles that label us as “show-offs” or “trying too hard,” and that’s okay. We didn’t post those pictures for you; we posted them for ourselves. Yes, for us.
So I’ll say it again: PINTEREST MOMS, LET’S UNITE! Let’s celebrate the creativity we bring to the table. We want to see what others have crafted with simple items like clothespins or twigs. That fondant cake someone made? We want to check it out because maybe we’ll try making one too! That looks like so much fun. And that’s exactly why we do it: for the enjoyment of it all.
We’re not creating a magical world; we’re simply having a blast. We’re not better moms or more devoted parents; we’re just crafty souls who loved creating long before our kiddos came along. Now, we’re thrilled to have little partners who want to join in on the fun.
If you don’t craft or bake with your kids, that’s totally fine. We Pinterest Moms won’t judge you for it. My own mom didn’t do any of that with me, and look at how much I love crafting now! So no need to worry that your kids are missing out. If you’re concerned, toss some craft supplies their way—there’s always twigs around to use!
It’s not a contest; we’re just indulging in what brings us joy. If your family enjoys different activities, embrace that! Go ahead and share videos of your family singing on YouTube. I promise, I won’t feel inadequate because of it.
Personally, I’d rather deal with a thousand craft projects than be on camera singing.

Summary:
In a world where Pinterest Moms often face criticism, this piece celebrates the creative spirit that binds them together. It emphasizes the joy of crafting and sharing, not for the sake of competition, but simply for fun. Whether you’re a crafty parent or prefer different family activities, the message is clear: embrace what brings you joy and let’s uplift each other.
