Twitter user Sarah Thompson shared a series of images showcasing her sister’s ingenious “Wall of Guilt,” an elaborate campaign designed to sway their father into allowing them to adopt a cat. The wall was plastered with pictures of forlorn, unadopted cats alongside handwritten notes that aimed to tug at their dad’s heartstrings.
In her tweet, Thompson shared, “My sister made a ‘wall of guilt’ to make our dad feel bad so she could get a cat.” The images quickly went viral, and it’s easy to see why. This kid is a master of emotional persuasion—even at such a young age.

However, the highlight of this campaign was undoubtedly the collection of sorrowful cat images, including one particularly heart-wrenching photo of a cat shedding tears, with an arrow pointing at its face that read, “This is because of you.” Talk about a ruthless tactic for a child!
In a twist of fate, the strategy actually worked. Thompson confirmed in her tweet, “Well, it worked,” alongside a photo of their somewhat reluctant dad, now with a new feline friend lounging comfortably on his lap.
